AP / Dual Credit Courses
Dual credit teachers/professors grade use policies set by Lone Star College. No late work will be accepted and there are no re-tests.
All dual credit students must take the final exams. All AP students must take the AP exam.
At the end of a grading period, a student who receives a grade below 70 (65 in an Advanced Placement or an advanced or a dual credit course) in any academic class becomes ineligible for interscholastic competition. (See Course Selection Guide)
A grade of 65 or above in an Advanced/AP/DC class meets UIL eligibility standards. However, a grade of 65-69 is not considered a passing grade in regard to satisfactory progress.
4042 AP Spanish Language has no equivalent level course available. As a result, students may not self-elect out of the course. Dual Credit students may withdraw from the course following procedures set forth by Lone Star College (students should meet with the High School dual credit coordinator for information).
If a student enrolled in a dual credit course earns a D or below as their final semester grade at Lone Star, the student will be dropped from the program and may no longer take dual credit courses. Note: The grades viewed in Skyward are High School grades and will be converted to Lone Star letter grades at the end of the semester. Hence, a High School grade (viewed in Skyward) of 70-72 is considered a D at Lone Star (see grade point system chart in the MISD Course Selection Guide).
AP and Dual Credit courses are assigned the same grade points.
Google Classroom
Google Classroom parallels what we do daily in class - students coming to school will not need to go to Google Classroom unless he/she is absent or if he/she is directed to do so for a homework assignment or to access reference material. I believe there is a way you can stop email alerts for missing grades in Google Classroom - the official grade book is the school grade book accessed through www.misd.org SKYWARD Parent Portal.
