Frequently Asked Questions
Who can apply?
You must a Sophomore or Junior with three consecutive semesters of A averages in Spanish.
You must be enrolled in Spanish 3, have completed Spanish 3 or must take Spanish 3 the year after induction.
What if I don't plan to take Spanish 4?
You may still join and be an active member provided you retain above average grades in all classes.
What if I took Spanish I in 8thgrade?
Your two semesters of A's will count!
What if my grade drops after induction?
A committee of teachers will decide if your average and discipline record are still acceptable.
If we have been in Pre-Advanced Placement classes, do the grades count differently?
No. An A is an A regular or Pre-AP.
What if I just transferred to Montgomery ISD or if I placed out of Spanish I and II?
Transfer students must have spent one full semester in a Spanish class in Montgomery ISD before eligibility. Students who have placed out of Spanish I and/or Spanish 2 will be credited for one semester A per level. Student must make an A average the first semester of Spanish 3 to be eligible.
What if I decide not to take Spanish 3?
There are no refunds after induction and you will be dropped from the Society.
